Enyimba FC, under the banner of their chairman and Arsenal legend Kanu Nwankwo, embarked on a heartwarming project with hospital visits in Aba under the auspices of Enyimba Foundation.
This was also achieved in collaboration with the Kanu Heart Foundation, Footballrover reports.
The entire team, including the technical crew, board members, staff, and players, graced St. Anthony’s Hospital, Aba, in a one-day Christmas visitation.
Not stopping there, they also extended their warmth to the SDA Hospital and General Hospital Aba.
The primary objective behind this heartfelt endeavour from the NPFL Champions was to usher in the festive season by bringing joy to the faces of patients.
This heartwarming gesture forms part of the People’s Elephant Foundation’s ongoing activities, emphasising the club’s commitment beyond the football pitch.
“Football is one tool that drives change in our community, and we decided to take football outside the pitch.”
The fact that the visit happened is clear evidence that football has the ability to impact people outside of stadiums.
This sort of project shows how sports have the power to change people’s lives outside of the thrilling arena.
Enyimba FC sets an inspiring example by leveraging sports to impact individuals and communities in Africa positively.
