Playing at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, Mbaoma Chijioke and Alade Balogun scored crucial goals in the 77th and 88th minutes to lead their team to a 2-0 win over Plateau United on match day 38, Footballrover reports.

This victory earned Enyimba a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, as they finished third in the NPFL with 63 points.

Rangers International FC, Enugu, claimed the NPFL championship with a total of 70 points after a hard-fought 2-1 win against Gombe United FC at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.

Kazeem Ogunleye and Godwin Obaje were pivotal in securing the victory for the Flying Antelopes, who will now represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League for the first time since 1995.

Remo Stars FC, based in Ikenne, Ogun State, also earned a place in the CAF Champions League by finishing second in the NPFL standings with 65 points.

Key performances from Super Eagles star Ismaila Sodiq and Dayo Ojo helped Remo Stars to a 2-1 triumph over Katsina United at the Remo Stars Stadium, ensuring their spot on the continental stage.

Shooting Stars SC from Ibadan, Oyo State, narrowly missed out on a Champions League berth, ending the season in fourth place with 62 points.

Despite Dumte Christian Pyagbara’s 37th-minute goal securing a win against Sporting Lagos FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium, it wasn’t enough to alter their league position.

Sporting Lagos FC, Doma United FC, Heartland FC, and Gombe United FC finished the season with 46, 44, 38, and 25 points, respectively.

These four teams have been relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) for the next season.

The final fixtures of the NPFL season highlighted the intensity and competitive spirit of Nigerian football, setting the stage for an exciting upcoming season in both domestic and continental competitions.
