Enugu Rangers’ head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has confidently declared that his team is fully prepared for their highly anticipated CAF Champions League preliminary round clash this weekend.
The Nigeria Premier Football League champions are set to face off against US Zilimadjou of Comoros, Footballrover reports.
The Flying Antelopes will host the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, with the second leg taking place at the same venue a week later.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the showdown, Coach Ilechukwu expressed that his team is steadily reaching the level required to make a significant impact in the CAF Champions League.
He acknowledged that playing both legs of the preliminary round in Nigeria is a huge advantage for them, as it reduces any potential stress on the team.
Though Uyo isn’t their traditional home ground, Ilechukwu emphasised that the team considers any location as home, a mindset he has instilled in the team.
