Manchester United and England’s Defensive Midfielder, Luke Shaw was undoubtedly, the man of the match as he diligently marshalled the midfield, and the defence of the English Team.
Tragedy, however, struck for the Iranian Team in the 8th minute of the first half when the Team’s First Choice Goalkeeper, Beiranvand Alireza, attempted to punch out Harry Maguire’s goal bound shot, but ended up colliding with his defender in the process.
Alireza was stretched off the field of play, and was replaced by Hossein Hossein. Iranian marksman, Mehdi Tehrami, put smiles on the faces of Iranian football supporters by scoring a brace (including a Penalty) against the Three Lions of England in the 61st, and 101 minutes of the Extra Time of the match.
