The Benin Queens had drawn with Rivers Angels after a loss to Sky Blue Stars, while Naija Ratels were coming off narrow defeats to Nasarawa Amazons and Remo Stars Ladies.

The Benin Gunners ladies came out with intensity, determined to secure their first victory in the NWFL Super 6.
They were up against Naija Ratels, who had failed to secure any points in their opening matches.
Emem Essien took the spotlight in this crucial fixture, scoring a brace in the first period of the game.
The first goal came just 20 minutes into the match, with Emem doubling her tally two minutes later.

Nasarawa Amazons strengthen Super 6 bid with win over sloppy Rivers Angels
Nasarawa ladies, after a strong start to the NWFL Super Six, faced Rivers Angels in another pivotal encounter.
The Amazons, fresh from a comeback win against Naija Ratels and a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Bayelsa Queens, were eager to continue their impressive run.
Rivers Angels, on the other hand, were desperate for a win after a 1-0 loss to Bayelsa Queens and a draw with Edo Queens.
In a display of resilience, the Amazons took control early in the match.
Janet Akekoromowei opened the scoring in the 24th minute, converting a corner kick from Jumoke Alani.
Just six minutes later, Akekoromowei struck again, doubling Nasarawa Amazons’ lead.
Rivers Angels found themselves two goals down at halftime but fought back in the second half.
Catherine Kenneth’s free kick in the 79th minute gave them hope, but it wasn’t enough as they succumbed to yet another defeat.
That result leaves Rivers Angels with a mountain to climb, and their chances of winning the Super 6 title have all but been extinguished.
