Nigerian forward Edna Imade produced the moment of the weekend in Liga F as her first-half penalty fired Real Sociedad Women to a stunning 1–0 victory over Barcelona Women on Sunday.

The result handed the Catalan giants their first defeat of the season and brought an abrupt end to their dominant winning streak, Footballrover reports.

Imade, who has been in sensational form, calmly converted from the spot in the 37th minute, sealing Sociedad’s third straight unbeaten result and silencing a team many thought was untouchable in the domestic league.

Her goal marked her seventh of the season in just seven appearances, extending her incredible scoring streak to five consecutive games.

Barcelona, known for their attacking dominance, failed to find the net for the first time since their goalless draw against Atlético de Madrid back in January 2025 — a show of Real Sociedad’s disciplined defensive display.

The victory lifted Sociedad to third place in the table with 20 points, level on points with Real Madrid and just four behind Barcelona.

Calls grow for Imade’s Super Falcons inclusion

With her consistent brilliance, many fans are calling for Edna Imade to earn her first Super Falcons call-up.

The 25-year-old was surprisingly left out of the squad that defeated Benin Republic 3–1 on aggregate in the 2026 WAFCON qualifiers, despite being one of the most in-form Nigerian forwards in Europe.
