Super Falcons striker Gift Monday grabbed the spotlight with a player-of-the-match performance, netting her third goal of the season to power Tenerife to a narrow victory in Liga F.

The Nigerian forward struck in the second half, securing a 1-0 win against Real Betis Féminas on Sunday, Footballrover reports.

Monday’s decisive goal was enough to earn her side all three points away from home.

Her game-winning effort came just moments after the restart, as she expertly converted a cross from Aleksandra Zaremba.

The 22-year-old initially made headlines with a brace in Tenerife’s 4-1 opening-day victory over Sevilla.

Meanwhile, her compatriot Rinsola Babajide, who has already claimed two MVP awards this season, also made an impact, playing 76 minutes of the match.

Tenerife’s victory over Real Betis helped them rebound after a tough defeat to Real Madrid Women in their previous outing.
