Violation of Rules and Framework:
According to Bayelsa United’s statement, it is explicitly stated in the NPL regulations that players from one club cannot be featured by another without proper procedures and consent.
By fielding Alex Oyowah, Osagie Onisodumeya, and Taiwo Adbulrafiu, Rivers United and Lobi Stars have violated these regulations, disregarding the established framework and fairness of the league.
Appeal for Justice and Compensation:
Bayelsa United appeals to Rivers United, accusing them of inducing Bayelsa United players and breaching rule 9:39:1 and 9:39:2.
The aggrieved club demands that both Rivers United and Lobi Stars be held accountable for their actions.
In a bid to deter future occurrences of such violations within the Nigerian league, Bayelsa United seeks exemplary damages of 1,000,000,00 Naira (One Million Naira) to be awarded in their favor.
Valid Contracts and Salary Increment:
Bayelsa United highlights that Osagie Onisodumeya, Alex Oyowah, and Taiwo Adbulrafiu still have valid contracts with the club.
It deems it illegal and inappropriate to witness these players donning the colors of Rivers United and Lobi Stars, despite any potential salary increment offered to them.
Bayelsa United firmly believes that honoring contractual agreements is of utmost importance for maintaining the integrity of professional football.
