Premier League side, Tottenham have announced the appointment of Ange Postecoglou, the former Celtic boss, as their new head coach.
The 57-year-old Australian, who achieved a domestic treble with Celtic this season, has signed a four-year contract with the London-based club.
Before joining Celtic in 2021, Postecoglou’s exposure to European football was limited to his time managing the Greek lower league team Panachaiki in 2008.
He achieved success by winning the Australian championship with South Melbourne and Brisbane Roar, securing the top position in Japan’s premier league with Yokohama F Marinos, and guiding the Australian national team to triumph in the 2015 Asian Cup.
Postecoglou’s arrival comes after the departure of Antonio Conte and the interim management of Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason.
Tottenham considered several candidates, including Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, and Arne Slot, but ultimately chose Postecoglou to lead the team.
He will officially assume his role on July 1.
Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, expressed his enthusiasm for Postecoglou’s positive mindset, attacking style of play, and ability to develop players.

The new head coach’s main objective will be to revitalize Tottenham’s performance after their disappointing eighth-place finish in the previous season.
Additionally, one of his initial challenges will be to address the future of star player Harry Kane, who has attracted interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid and has only one year left on his contract.
