Nigerian striker Akor Adams has made a surprising move, cutting his vacation short to return to Sevilla and focus on recovering from injury.
This bold decision signals his strong determination to secure a place under the club’s new management and prove his worth on the field, Footballrover reports.
Akor Adams: The road to Sevilla comeback
The 25-year-old joined Sevilla in the winter but faced two muscle injuries, including a recent thigh strain, which limited his play towards the end of the last season.
Despite being on holiday in Tanzania, Adams quickly came back to Seville for medical checks and physical therapy.
He’s been working closely with the club’s rehab team, even sharing updates online, showing his commitment to being fully ready for pre-season training in July.
Adams was brought in by the former sporting director, but now he’s eager to impress Sevilla’s new leaders.
Antonio Cordón is set to become the new sporting director, and Matías Almeyda is expected to be the next manager.
Akor Adams’ ambition: A determined Nigerian star
Adams is keen to show what he can do, especially with a tough pre-season coming up.
He will face strong competition from other forwards like Isaac Romero, as well as Kelechi Iheanacho and Rafa Mir, who are returning from loan spells.
Both Iheanacho and Mir are also nearing the end of their contracts, adding more pressure to the competition.
Adams’ early return to the La Liga side shows his ambition to play a key role in the 2025/26 season.
