Super Eagles Goalkeeper β Adebayo Adeleye has expressed satisfaction with his performance over the weekend, keeping a clean sheet to help Hapoel Jerusalem overcome Sektzia Nes Tziona by a razor-thin margin in the Israeli Premier League.
In Saturday’s match at the Teddy Stadium against Shlomi Doraβs team, Adebayo Adeleye proved to be the save hands that inspired his team seal off a 1-0 win against their visitors to earn all three points.
Hapoel Jerusalem only needed a goal in the early stages of the second half to earn the victory in front of their home fans with Adebayo playing a crucial role in their success.
Israeli star – Guy Badash, 28, gave the home team the lead 48 minutes into the match, and his goal turned out to be the game-winner after the final whistle.
As a result of Almog Buzaglo’s straight red card from the center referee in the 76th minute of the game, the visitor, who were unable to score, were later reduced to ten men.
Before they were subsequently reduced to nine after Lior Inbrum received a second red card barely five minutes into stoppage time.
With the win, Adebayo Adeleye and his teammates move up to fifth place in the Israeli Premier League rankings, 21 points behind Maccabi Haifa, who are now in first place, and 15 points ahead of their visitors.
Just after the game, the 22-year-old Nigerian goaltender posted on his Twitter account stating he was thrilled to record another clean sheet for the club for a second game in a row.
“Excited to keep another clean sheet over the weekend. Focus now on working harder as we aim for the target of the season.“
