Following a disappointing outing last time out against Ibom Angels, the Port Harcourt outfit delivered a statement performance to reignite their push for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six, footballrover reports.

The Jewels of Rivers dictated the tempo from the opening whistle, combining fluid passing with a relentless high press that left the visitors suffocated.

Head coach Tosan Blankson’s decision to shuffle his pack paid dividends, as his three tactical changes injected the necessary urgency into the side.

The breakthrough arrived in the 23rd minute when Ajibade showed elite composure in the box. Latching onto a precise delivery from Saliu, the forward slotted the ball home to give the hosts a deserved lead.

Ajibade was far from finished, doubling her tally just 12 minutes later. She reacted quickest to a handling error by Adamawa Queens’ goalkeeper, Sheba Samuel, pouncing on the loose ball to make it 2-0 before the interval.

With a three-goal cushion, the Angels shifted into game-management mode, comfortably seeing out the remainder of the match to secure three vital points in their NWFL campaign.
