Super Falcons forward Francisca Ordega has clinched the Saudi Women’s League POTM award for her outstanding debut month with Al Ittihad Ladies.
The Nigerian star claimed a landslide victory, securing 62% of fan votes, ahead of Naomie Kabakaba and fellow Super Falcons teammate Ashleigh Plumptre, who each received 19%, Footballrover reports.
Francisca Ordega’s dream start in Saudi Arabia
It’s been a whirlwind start for Francisca Ordega in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
The explosive winger wasted no time announcing her arrival, scoring four goals and registering a total of seven goal contributions in just three league appearances—five goals and two assists.
Her dazzling displays and immediate impact made her a clear fan favourite.
The league confirmed Ordega’s victory on their official X page, stating:
“Francisca Ordega wins the Best Player of the Month award in her first month in our league with 4 goals and 7 contributions.”
In the month of March, Al Ittihad recorded two victories and one narrow defeat across three matches, netting an impressive 13 goals while conceding only twice.
They claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over Al-Amal, narrowly lost 2-1 to unbeaten league leaders Al-Nassr—and responded with a dominant 9-0 thrashing of Al-Taraji.
These results pushed Al Ittihad up to seventh place on the league standings, with just two fixtures remaining in the season.
Saudi Women’s League POTM vote results revealed
The race for the Saudi Women’s League POTM award was expected to be tight, but Ordega’s dominance on the pitch translated into a commanding lead in the poll.
Naomie Kabakaba and Ashleigh Plumptre, both strong contenders, settled for joint second with 19% of the total votes.
This win shows that Ordega still possesses the quality of a sharp forward even at her age and signals her readiness to dominate Saudi women’s football.
With her red-hot form and immediate influence, the 31-year-old Nigerian international has set the bar high in her debut month.
Winning the Saudi Women’s League POTM is a massive statement—and this might just be the beginning for the former CSKA Moscow star.
