Victor Osimhen delivered another match-winning performance, leading Galatasaray to victory over Alanyaspor in a thrilling Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward rose to the occasion once again, netting a crucial goal that ended his team’s frustrating run of four consecutive draws.
But how did it all unfold?
Galatasaray’s victory over Alanyaspor, a huge boost
The hosts, Alanyaspor, wasted no time asserting their dominance, breaking the deadlock through Tonny Vilhena.
The midfielder expertly controlled a pinpoint pass on the edge of the box before smashing the ball into the roof of the net, giving the home side a well-earned lead before halftime.
Galatasaray, however, came out of the break with renewed determination.
Just six minutes into the second half, luck played in their favor when Fidan Aliti mistakenly deflected the ball into his own net, gifting the visitors an equalizer.
Victor Osimhen’s header secure the win
With the scoreline level, the match hung in the balance until Victor Osimhen produced a moment of magic in the 62nd minute.
Rising above his marker, he met a precise cross with a powerful header, sending the ball soaring inside the right post to complete Galatasaray’s comeback.
His goal—his 17th in the league this season—further cements his status as one of the division’s deadliest strikers.
Osimhen now boasts 28 goal contributions across all competitions, including six Europa League goals and five assists.
Galatasaray held firm in the closing stages to claim a vital 2-1 win, extending their unbeaten run to six matches (two wins, four draws).
With momentum regained, they now set their sights on their upcoming clash against Antalyaspor as they continue their charge for the Super Lig title.
