Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi added another goal to his tally against Wolves, continuing his remarkable run against the Midlands club during their Premier League game on Saturday.
However, despite his early brilliance, the match quickly turned sour for Fulham, who were left reeling after a crushing 4-1 defeat on home turf, Footballrover reports.
The game kicked off with an exciting rhythm, and it was Fulham’s Iwobi who drew first blood.
In the 20th minute, the Super Eagles star received a precise pass from Tete, found space on the edge of the box, and unleashed a stunning left-footed curling shot.
Iwobi scores Wolves again as Fulham’s defence crumbles
The ball sailed past Wolverhampton Wanderers’ goalkeeper, igniting the Craven Cottage crowd in celebration.
This marked Iwobi’s sixth goal against Wolves—an impressive tally, making them his most frequent victims in terms of scoring at club level.
Despite the early setback, Wolverhampton quickly responded, showing their resilience.
Just 11 minutes after Iwobi’s opener, the visitors equalised through a well-taken goal by Cunha.
The Brazilian forward latched onto a long ball from Lemina, controlled it expertly, and slid it past Fulham’s goalkeeper from close range.
The second half saw Wolves shift into high gear. In the 53rd minute, they took the lead with a brilliantly placed strike from Joao Gomes.
A perfectly timed through-ball allowed Gomes to guide the ball into the bottom corner, leaving Fulham’s defence in disarray.
The attack continued, and in the 87th minute, Cunha added a second with a sensational long-range effort.
From just outside the penalty area, he bent the ball into the top corner, leaving Leno helpless as it flew into the net.
As the game wound down, Fulham’s misery was compounded in the dying moments.
In the 95th minute, substitute Gonçalo Guedes sealed the victory for Wolves, scoring with a composed right-footed finish from close range following a rapid counter-attack.

The Wolves’ clinical finishing had ensured there would be no late fightback from Fulham.
While Iwobi’s performance continued to impress, it was not enough to prevent Fulham from suffering their heaviest loss of the season.
The midfielder, who has been in sensational form this campaign, now boasts three goals and two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.
However, the result highlighted the gap between the two sides, with Fulham failing to contain Wolves’ clinical attacks despite their early promise.
