The Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2023, served up another exciting encounter as Zambia and Tanzania played out a pulsating 1-1 draw in Group F’s round 2 tie.
Leicester City’s Patson Daka emerged as the hero for Chipolopolo, scoring a dramatic late equaliser to cancel out Tanzania’s early lead, Footballrover reports.

The strike put Zambia on the back foot, and their woes deepened when Rodrick Kabwa received a red card in the 44th minute, reducing them to ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Zambia refused to back down.
They upped the tempo in the second half, and their persistence paid off in the 88th minute.

Chipolopolo kicked off their AFCON campaign with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with DR Congo but were expecting a result from a Tanzanian side without a head coach and who lost their opening clash 3-0 to Morocco. Taifa Stars suspended Adel Amrouche after he was given an eight-match ban and fined $10,000 by the Confederation of African Football for comments suggesting ‘Morocco had influence over CAF’. But his side were full value for their point and will be disappointed to not have won the game, having opened the scoring on 11 minutes through Simon Msuva and playing the entire half a man up after Roderick Kabwe saw red on 44 minutes.
