Morocco held by the DR Congo:

Pre-tournament favourites Morocco faced a spirited challenge from the DR Congo in Group F, Footballrover reports.

Achraf Hakimi’s early 6th-minute strike, expertly assisted by Hakim Ziyech, seemed to put the Atlas Lions on cruise control.

However, Silas Katompa Mvumpa’s 76th-minute equaliser, courtesy of Meschack Elias’ assist, stunned the Moroccan defence, forcing a 1-1 draw.

Despite the setback, Morocco maintains the Group F lead with 4 points, while DR Congo sits 2nd with 2 points.

The group promises further fireworks, with Zambia vs. Tanzania in the remaining fixture.
