Football fans witnessed pure entertainment on Saturday as Nigerian defender Yahaya Lawali delivered an impressive performance, scoring a quickfire brace for MFK Karvina B.
However, his Man-of-the-Match effort wasn’t enough to secure all three points, as his team settled for a thrilling 4-4 draw against FC Zbrojovka Brno B in a Czech Republic Liga 3 match, Footballrover reports.
This incredible comeback saw Karvina B surrender a commanding lead in what became an unforgettable 8-goal thriller.
Yahaya Lawali’s brace against Brno B not enough
The 19-year-old was at the heart of the action, finding the net twice in quick succession.
After a quiet first half, the game exploded after the break. Vit Vavrik opened the scoring for Karvina B in the 52nd minute, only for Stepan Viktorin to quickly equalise for Brno B.
Then came the incredible Lawali show. He scored his second goal of the season in the 72nd minute, followed by another just two minutes later in the 74th.
Dalibor Graf added another in the 78th minute, giving Karvina B a seemingly unassailable 4-1 lead.
It was Lawali’s brace against Brno B that truly lit up the stadium, marking his third goal in 14 games for the former Golden Eaglets right-back.
Brno B stages stunning comeback
Just when everyone thought the game was over, FC Zbrojovka Brno B launched a stunning comeback.
Oldřich Prágr pulled one back almost immediately in the 79th minute. The tension grew even further when Michal Hložánek scored in the 88th minute.
And just a minute into additional time, Ondřej Šlapanský completed the incredible turnaround, snatching a point for Brno B with a dramatic equaliser.
What an unbelievable finish to a truly stunning 8-goal thriller!
This disappointing draw means MFK Karvina B has now gone two games without a win, recording a defeat and a draw, following their two straight victories against Zlinsko and Zlin B.
With this result, MFK Karvina B remains in 13th place on the 18-team table with 42 points, just two points behind their visitors, who sit in 8th place.
