The Pride of Rivers found themselves trailing early as Meyuwa Oritseweyimi fired Bendel Insurance ahead in the sixth minute.
However, Ubong Friday stepped up with a sensational 25-yard screamer in the 34th minute, bringing Rivers United level before halftime.
Insurance regained the lead through Uche Collins just four minutes into the second half, but Rivers United responded swiftly.
Handsome Surveyor’s close-range finish in the 51st minute ensured the home side salvaged a crucial point.

Ubong Friday’s latest goal adds to the 48 he netted for Akwa United before his move to Rivers United, where he has now registered two more strikes.
The 26-year-old midfielder was a key figure in Akwa United’s NPFL title-winning campaign under coach Kennedy Boboye and had previously tormented the Garden City side with a brace before joining them.
The skilled winger is undoubtedly among the top-rated in the Nigeria Premier Football League, displaying exceptional playmaking ability.
Despite his stunner against the Benin Gunners, Rivers United now sit third in the NPFL standings, seven points behind leaders Remo Stars after 21 matches.
