Senegal are through to the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a stunning 2-1 win over their rivals – Ecuador at the Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday.
Teranga Lions of Senegal missed opportunities for early goals in the last round of Group A, Qatar 2022 World Cup match against Ecuador.
Idrissa Gueye and Boulaye Dia respectively missed clear chances in 3rd, and 7th minutes of the first half of the match as they both shot wide in front of empty Ecuadorian net.

Senegalese International Star, Ismaila Sarr made up for the missed chances when he calmly scored a penalty in 44 minutes of the first half.
Ismaila Sarr was bullied inside Ecuadorian goal area by defender, Piero Hincapie and referee Clement Turpin awarded a Penalty.
Moses Caicedo equalized for Ecuador in 67 minutes of the second after receiving a pass from defender, Felix Torres.
Ecuadorian celebrations hardly died down when Senegalese Captain – Kalidou Koulibaly scored the second goal for Senegal, and his first International goal in his 67 caps for the Senegalese Senior National Football Team.
