Graham Potter’s Chelsea dreadful record in 2022/2023 English Premier League season has been made worse by Fulham, who defeated them 2-1 at home in a West London Derby at Craven Cottage in London.
With the victory against Chelsea and 31 points after 19 games, Fulham has moved up to the top six of the English Premier League standings.
Additionally, it means Chelsea has a dismal record recently with just one victory in nine games.
In the 58th minute of the second half of the game, Portuguese-born Joao Felix, Chelsea’s newest acquisition from Spanish club Atletico Madrid, was sent off for a nasty tackle on a Fulham player.
Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham and Carney Chukwuemeka of Chelsea, both of whom are eligible for the Super Eagles, made significant contributions for their respective sides.
In the 25th minute of the first half, former Blues hero, Willian’s, shot inside Chelsea’s 18-yard box which struck the leg of a Chelsea player and bounced into the goal for Fulham’s first goal of the game.
Chelsea’s defensive stalwart – Kalidou Koulibaly equalized for the Blues in the 47th minute of the second half.
In 73rd minute of the second half, Carlos Viniscius gave the home team a deserved lead with an assist from Andreas Pereira.
The West London Derby was won by Fulham courtesy of the 2-1 win, despite Chelsea’s late addition of three senior players, including Ziyech, Gallagher, and Cucurella, to try and turn the tide.
