Rivers United forward – Ishaq Kayode Rafiu has been named the League Bloggers Association (LBA) Nigeria Professional Football League Player of the Month for February.
Ishaq Kayode had a fantastic month for Rivers United, scoring three goals in six NPFL appearances, including a brace in their 2-1 victory over Dakkada FC.
With 11 goals, the current league top scorer beat out Abdulaeez Yufus, Valentine Odoh, and Ibrahim Yahaya to earn the title.
On Sunday last week, the 21-year-old also scored the game’s first goal to help Stanley Eguma side thrash Akwa United 4-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
His goal gave the Wike Boys the advantage over their opponents in their NPFL match, securing a comfortable victory heading into the half-way mark of the 2021/2022 campaign.

With Rivers United at the top of the league table, the former Remo Stars forward will be hoping to keep up his incredible form in order to assist the Port Harcourt outfit clinch the league title at the end of the season.
