Footballrover understands that the Rivers Christian Cup (RCC), an exciting tournament for young people, is about to be unveiled in Port Harcourt, which will deliver significant opportunities for local youths.
Organised by the Lighthouse Rescue Sports Outreach (LRSO), this football competition promises to ignite the passions and aspirations of the region’s youth, offering a platform for talent and personal development, Footballrover reports.
In a move to make this competition a success, the Planning Sub-Committee of the RCC held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Joshua Evangelism Ministries (JEM) Royal Foundation in Port Harcourt.
The meeting brought together key figures, including SWAN Vice Chairman, Rivers State Chapter, Evangelist Obum Akawor, JP, FCAI (Chairman), Amb. (Mrs.) Didi Phina Ojogwu, also known as SPORTS MAMA (Deputy Chairman), Pastor Gift Austin (Secretary), and Chief Kingsley Anyinwo of JEM Royal Foundation (Member).
Slated to commence in the first week of September 2024, this six-day competition will gather Christian churches from across the state to participate in the competition.
More importantly, it will serve as a beacon of hope and empowerment for the youth, providing them with a constructive outlet for their energies and a chance to showcase their skills on a broader stage.
The RCC is not just a football tournament; it is a transformative experience that promises to uplift and inspire the youth and pave the way for a brighter future in Rivers State.
