Nigerian-born forward Rinsola Babajide recently expressed her disappointment and frustration after her team, UD Granadilla Tenerife, narrowly lost their second match in Liga F on Sunday.
Despite scoring her first goal of the season, the 25-year-old winger couldn’t prevent her team from suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Spanish giants Real Madrid at the Campo de Fútbol de Adeje.
Real Madrid’s Signe Bruun opened the scoring just 11 minutes before halftime, and Maite Oroz doubled the lead in the 88th minute.
However, in the dying moments of extra time, Rinsola Babajide managed to pull one back for her team, providing some consolation for the home fans.

While celebrating her first league goal of the season, the rising Nigerian star expressed her disappointment with the final result, stating,

UD Granadilla Tenerife now holds a record of one win and one defeat, placing them in 7th position on the Primera División table.
Looking ahead, Rinsola Babajide will turn her attention to their upcoming fixture on Wednesday, where she’ll face her compatriot – Toni Payne when they visit Sevilla at the Ramón Cisneros Palacios.
Toni Payne and her Sevilla side are also looking to reverse their fortunes after suffering back-to-back early defeats in the league. It promises to be a challenging clash for both teams.
