Lauren James, the younger sister of Chelsea defender – Reece James, has acknowledged that she is heartbroken to see her brother miss the World Cup due to injury.
Reece James has been in a tricky situation to recover from his injury before the World Cup; regrettably, those possibilities are passed now.
On Wednesday, Reece James confessed that his chances of representing England in the World Cup were gone.
The England right-back sustained a knee injury in October, and it never seemed likely that he would fully recover in time to travel with the Three Lions to Qatar. Gareth Southgate is scheduled to announce his team on Thursday.
James, 22, admitted on Wednesday that he won’t be ready in time but he won’t give up trying. James insisted he was doing everything in his power to play.
James posted on social media;
“Devastated. The minute I injured my knee, I knew the turnaround to make the World Cup would be tight, but I always felt it was possible. I’ve worked harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best chance of going and truly believed I could help the team. I appreciate there was risk on both sides but it was one I was willing to take. Good luck to the boys. I’ll be back soon. Stay safe and sending love.”

Later on, Reece James sister – Lauren James decided to show support by sending encouraging words to her brother, telling him that hard times never linger and that he would soon be back in action.
“Tough times never last. Devastated for you, you’ll be back! Love ya always RJ” – she wrote on social media.
Ben Chilwell, his Chelsea teammate and fellow fullback, has joined James on the injured list after a severe hamstring injury.
Kyle Walker, Man City right-back, is also questionable because of an abdominal issue.
The loss of potentially vital players right before the tournament has affected more than just England.
