The young star’s breakthrough moment not only ended his scoring drought but sealed a crucial win for the Slovenian side.

For two seasons, Agba has been a rock in Olimpija’s midfield, establishing himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers.

Known for his precision and composure on the ball, 21-year-old Peter Agba has gradually gained recognition as a key contributor to the team’s success, often helping control the tempo and disrupt opponents’ play.

Yet, his name on the scoresheet remained elusive—until now.

Olimpija’s clash with HJK Helsinki saw Agba finally seize his moment, stepping into the spotlight as he drove forward to wrap up the Slovenian team’s win.

In his 90 minutes on the field, Peter dominated with his passing accuracy, recording a stellar 93% success rate for any player who featured for at least 45 minutes or more.

This level of precision, coupled with his defensive efforts, made him a commanding presence on the pitch.

Alongside his goal, Agba made five recoveries, won four aerial duels, and emerged victorious in five ground battles.

Agba’s first goal in 50th match for Olimpija: A long-awaited milestone

Coming off the back of a 2-0 victory over LASK in their previous Conference League outing, Olimpija approached the game brimming with confidence.

However, their Finnish opponents matched their intensity, resulting in a tightly contested first half.

HJK’s Lee Erwin and Miska Ylitolva looked threatening, but Olimpija’s goalkeeper thwarted each effort to keep the score level going into the break.

Despite a largely defensive approach in the opening period, Olimpija took advantage of HJK’s missed opportunities in the second half.

After a stunning long-range strike from Brest broke the deadlock, Agba’s decisive goal soon followed.

Collecting a precise pass from Brest, he slipped into the box and coolly slotted the ball past HJK’s keeper into the far corner, a perfect finish that rewarded his persistence.

Late on, HJK’s Jordi Govea almost narrowed the margin, only for a lengthy VAR review to disallow his goal.

Ultimately, it was Peter Agba and Olimpija who stood tall, extending their winning streak to six games and pushing them into the top-eight of the Conference League table.

This landmark victory in his 50th match was marked by Agba’s first goal contribution of the season.
