Ademola Lookman of Atalanta has praised Napoli star man – Victor Osimhen as an excellent player with incredible skills, but has labeled him as his rival on the pitch.

The 25-year-old claimed in an interview with a local Bergamo newspaper, L’Eco di Bergamo, that his Super Eagles teammate has proven how talented he is by performing well ever since he joined Serie A in 2020.

In his competition with Osimhen for the Italian league’s top scoring honor, Lookman is likewise not losing a moment’s sleep.

The 25-year-old forward is four goals behind Osimhen in the battle for the Capocannoniere after scoring 12 goals in 20 games in his debut season in the Serie A.

After he completely failed to find back of the net against Sassuolo seven days ago, the former Leicester City star will be eager to continue his goal-scoring spree against Lazio today at the Stadio Olimpico.

For the first time in his last four games, the forward failed to grab a goal. Recall that Atalanta’s 2-1 loss to Napoli in November featured goals from Lookman and Osimhen.

Ademola Lookman will actually be putting his friendship with his Super Eagles teammate – Victor Osimhen aside when both strikers head out later today to compete for the Italian Serie A top scorer honor.

While Osimhen is in first spot for the Paolo Rossi Award with 16 goals in 17 games for table-toppers Napoli, Lookman remain in second place in the race.

Lookman and Osimhen are rivals in Serie A but teammates for their national team, and will be aiming to finish off the Serie A season with the Paolo Rossi Award.

Ademola Lookman has been an inspiring signing for Atalanta from Leipzig in August for under £15m.
