Michelle Alozie stole the spotlight with a stunning stoppage-time strike as the Houston Dash secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Gotham FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

The Nigerian international, who started on the bench, came on late and turned into the match-winner, sealing three vital points for her side in thrilling fashion, Footballrover reports.
Michelle Alozie Turns Late Substitution into Match-Winning Moment
The game at Sports Illustrated Stadium had all the drama fans could ask for, from thunder delays to a thunderous finish.
Alozie entered the pitch in the 84th minute, replacing Allysha Chapman, and made an immediate impact.

In the dying moments, the Super Falcons star unleashed a rocket that smashed past Gotham’s defence, marking her first goal of the NWSL season.
That strike not only handed Houston Dash the win but also ended Gotham’s unbeaten run of four games.
Houston Edge Gotham in Dramatic Contest
Gotham took the lead early through Esther Gonzalez, who scored her league-leading 11th goal in the eighth minute after being set up by Gabi Portilho.
But Houston levelled in the 51st minute when Emily Sonnett’s back pass slipped past goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger for an own goal.

Despite Gotham controlling most of the match with 15 shots compared to Dash’s two, it was Alozie’s decisive finish that mattered most.
The victory followed Houston Dash’s 2-1 away win against North Carolina Courage, giving the team back-to-back league triumphs.
Alozie’s Winning Spirit Extends Beyond the NWSL
Michelle Alozie’s brilliance continues her impressive run after helping Nigeria win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

She had also scored a long-range strike in the semifinal victory over South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, proving her ability to deliver when it matters most.
For Houston, her return and match-winning strike continue to prove her quality and importance.
