Despite their undeniable efforts on the pitch, the Changi Boys were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by the determined Makurdi outfit, Footballrover reports

The battle unfolded at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, where the home team dominated the proceedings.

However, their Achilles’ heel was their inefficiency in front of the goal, which ultimately cost them the desired victory.

Falolu, candidly disheartened by the outcome, shared his thoughts on the performance of his fellow teammates.

He firmly believed that their display on the field warranted nothing less than all three points.

Regrettably, they had to settle for just one point, which now positions them in the 11th spot on the Nigeria Premier Football League table after three games.

The 19-year-old Attacking Midfield, Azeez Falolu, expressed his disbelief at the outcome, stating that the team had played even better than in their previous match against Kano Pillars.

We cannot believe we did not win this game,” Falolu said. “I think we played even better than against Kano Pillars as we created maybe 12 or 13 chances in front of their keeper [Lucky Jimoh]. He was their best player and that says everything. I think our fans can be proud as we did everything and tried to win.”

The former Akwa United player acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football but maintained his belief that playing well increases the chances of victory.

This is football. I believe, when you play a nice game, you have more chances to win. I have that thought – you should play good if you want to win but this time it was not like that,” he said.

Despite the frustrating outcome, Falolu remains optimistic about the team’s future.

“I hope this is not going to happen again. When we play as well as we did, we can win maybe 6-0 or 7-0. It was unbelievable we did not win but I cannot say too much. I don’t know what to say to our fans but we have to accept it and keep working,” he said.

The team’s fans will undoubtedly be disappointed with the result, but Falolu’s words offer a glimmer of hope for the future.
