On Thursday, Ibrahim Sunusi scored his first career hat-trick to lead CF Montreal to a convincing Canadian Championship quarter-final victory over Forge FC.
Forge FC were humiliated and eliminated once again by CF Montreal, this time 3-0 at Stade Saputo, with the Nigerian forward causing all of the damage.
With just over a minute on the clock, the Nigerian had gotten behind the Forge defense and forced Henry into a big save.
Sunusi Ibrahim says he learnt he would start the #CanChamp game yesterday at practice. Added he thought: "Let me see if I can score one goal."
He scored three. Good day at the office for the kid. #CFMTL

Ibrahim Sunusi continued to attack their opponents’ defense line, and just 14 minutes into the game, he found pocket of space and fired the defending champions ahead.
Another poor defending gave the forward room to double the lead for CF Montreal eight minutes later with a simple header from a free kick into the back of the net.
Before the 19-year-old went on to score yet again for the Wilfred Nancy side with a simple tap-in and his first hat-trick just minutes into the second half, putting the game out of reach for Forge.
Sunusi Ibrahim could have easily extended his tally more than a hat-trick in 61 minutes of action but was just unlucky not to score.
He had five shots in the encounter, four of which were on target, as he wreaked havoc on the Forge defense.
Sunusi Ibrahim has set a new landmark in the Canadian Championship with his hat-trick, making him the first Nigerian to do so.

Recall that in the 2018-2019 season, Sunusi led Nassarawa United in scoring with ten goals.
With the win, MontrΓ©al advanced to the next round of the Canadian Championship, where they will face Toronto FC in the semi-finals, while Forge will be left wondering why they were so flat footed in their biggest game of the season.
In their Canadian Premier League game on Sunday, CF Montreal will face Cincinnati at home.
