Heartland Queens’ defensive midfielder, Nwabueze Charles, has revealed her team’s strategy to secure a double win against Dannaz Ladies in their upcoming NWFL Premiership matchday 14 game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Despite already qualifying for the Super Six, Nwabueze emphasised that her team is determined to top Group A and make it a double win, Footballrover reports.
“Yes, I believe we will make it a double, I believe we will win Dannaz Ladies because our aim is to top the group even though we have qualified for the Super Six, we also want to be at the top of the table in our group,” she said.
She expressed confidence in her team’s ability to win over the Lagos fans with their attractive brand of football, leveraging the pressure on the home team to their advantage.
She admitted the significance of playing away from home but remained optimistic about her team’s chances, citing their strong teamwork, coaching, and current form as key factors in their quest for victory.
The young midfielder considers it a significant career milestone to be part of Heartland Queens’ Super Six qualification in her first season of topflight football, a major achievement that boosts her professional profile.
“It’s a plus actually, I am very happy, it’s something everyone dreams of to play in Super Six, and for me getting the opportunity in my first premiership season, I am exceedingly happy and it’s a good thing to the entire team,” she said.
With the Super Six spot already secured, Nwabueze sees this game as an opportunity to build momentum and make a statement ahead of the title decider stage.
She believes that her team’s calm and composed approach will allow them to capitalise on any mistakes made by their opponents.
The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams vying for the top spot in Group A.
Heartland Queens will face stiff competition from Dannaz Ladies, but Nwabueze’s confidence and strategic thinking suggest that her team is well-prepared for the challenge.
