Super Falcons forward Gift Monday has taken to her social media page to celebrate grabbing yet another goal this season when her side, UD Tenerife, faced Levante Las Palmas in a nail-biting clash.
The Nigerian forward has continued her impressive scoring form, netting the opening goal for UD Tenerife in their 1-1 draw against Levante Las Palmas on Sunday evening, Footballrover reports.
Thrilling Encounter at Adeje:
The match at the Football Field (Adeje) was a nail-biter in Liga F, with Monday putting her team ahead within four minutes.
Levante fought back, however, equalising through Jessica Martínez late in the game, leaving Tenerife with a bittersweet point.
Monday Shines Despite the Draw:
Despite the final score, the 22-year-old Super Falcons star made her mark, contributing two shots, one of which found the net.
This brings her goal tally to four in nine starts for Tenerife this season.
Resilience and Looking Forward:
Gift expressed pride in her team’s effort, acknowledging the tough battle. She remains optimistic, believing Tenerife can improve despite the draw.
“Glad to contribute a goal for @UDCATenerife in our hard-fought match against Levante Las Palmas! Despite the 1-1 draw, proud of our team’s effort. 4 goals in 9 starts. Can only get better,” she wrote.
Previous Contribution:
The last time the 22-year-old forward managed to hit the target was in early January, in their thrilling away draw against Sociedad.
She scored the equaliser that helped her team bounce back into the game after going a goal down, although the clash ended in a 3-3 draw at the Instalaciones de Zubieta.
Next Up: Copa de la Reina Challenge:
Next up for Gift Monday and her teammates are in a crucial Copa de la Reina quarter-final clash against Athletic Club on Wednesday, with their sights set on a win.
Tenerife will be looking to build on their positive performance and advance in the competition.
