Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo has arrived in Kano State to conduct a five-day football talent scouting exercise.
The former Premier League star, now chairman of Enyimba International, is partnering with Azuba FC to identify and recruit young talents, Footballrover reports.
Kanu Nwankwo, accompanied by his aides, was spotted at the Sani Abacha stadium, mentoring players on the importance of mental strength in their football careers.
Ahmed Zubairu Baba, chairman of Azuba FC, expressed delight at Kanu’s presence, saying it would boost the players’ morale and energy.
The partnership between Azuba FC and Enyimba FC aims to provide a platform for young Kano players to excel.
Enyimba FC has signed a partnership with a foreign club interested in young talents, and they hope to extend the relationship to kit sponsorship and facility development.
Ifeanyi Ekwueme, Sporting Director of Enyimba FC International, revealed that their mission is to assess and recruit talented players to join the Enyimba FC brand.
He assured that the exercise will not end in futility, as Enyimba FC scouts have begun combing Kano for exceptional talents.
Ekwueme thanked the executive governor of Kano state, Eng Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the people of Kano for their warm reception.
This partnership is a significant step in developing Nigerian football and providing opportunities for young talents to shine.
