Enugu Rangers have made a shocking decision by releasing Ezeh Chidera, a favourite among their passionate fan base, ahead of the upcoming 2023–2024 season.
Chidera, a right-back, scored twice and provided two assists in the 2023 season, helping the club narrowly avoid relegation.
His impressive goal-scoring record made him the third-top scorer at the club, behind Chidiebere Nwobodo and Godwin Obaje.
Chidera’s ability to find the back of the net from his position as a right-back was a rarity in the 2023 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season, with only two other right-backs achieving the same feat.
Enugu Rangers fans are stunned by the decision to release him, as he had become a favorite among the supporters.
The club also bid farewell to seven other players whose contracts expired: Jacob John, Innocent Gabriel, Emmanuel Charles, Reuben Bala, Adam Musa, Rabiu Adamu, and Onyekozuru Okoro.
