Benjamin Isaiah, former President of the Kaduna State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has been elected as the new National President of SWAN.
His election took place at the Triennial Delegate Congress held at Krisdera Hotel in Omoku, Rivers State, from July 11 to July 13, 2023.
Benjamin Isaiah replaces Sir Honour Sirawoo from Rivers State as the head of SWAN.
Benjamin Isaiah secured a decisive victory with 16 out of 22 votes, defeating Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo from Taraba State.
As the newly elected National President, he expressed gratitude to the delegates and pledged to lead an all-inclusive administration that builds upon the achievements of his predecessor.

Bonny Nyong emerged as the Deputy President, defeating Gabriel Nwanetanya. Other key national offices were returned unopposed, reflecting the association’s confidence in their capabilities.
The event was graced by SWAN’s newly appointed Grand Patron, Bro Felix Obuah, who urged defeated candidates, delegates, and members to support the newly elected leadership, emphasizing unity for SWAN’s growth.
