Marc Cucurella has been singing praises of Brighton Star Midfielder, in a transfer saga that has captured so much attention, the pursuit of Moises Caicedo by Chelsea has taken center stage this summer.

The highly sought after midfielder, who played a pivotal role in helping Brighton qualify for Europe and reach the FA Cup semi-finals last season, has been on the radar of the West London club for quite some time, drawing interest from several Premier League teams as well.

Cucurella, who currently plays for Chelsea and shares a good relationship with Caicedo, expressed his admiration for the young Ecuadorian midfielder.

Speaking about his compatriot, Cucurella said that he believes the player wants to join Chelsea as he has read about it in the media on numerous occasions.

He also admitted that he has a strong rapport with the player, describing him as a talented midfielder.

Cucurella added that if the player joins Chelsea, they would have a top midfielder for an extended period.

Caicedo’s journey to prominence has been nothing short of remarkable.

Having joined Brighton from Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle in February 2021 for a reported £4.5m, the 21-year-old was subsequently loaned to Belgian side Beerschot.

His top-flight debut came in April 2022, and since then, he has impressed with 53 appearances and two goals for the Seagulls at the Amex Stadium.

Chelsea Boss Mauricio Pochettino Determined to Secure Top Target

As Chelsea’s new boss, Mauricio Pochettino, takes the reins at Stamford Bridge, he has made it clear that securing their top targets is a priority for the club this summer.

However, the pursuit of Moises Caicedo has proven to be a challenging endeavor for the Blues.

Brighton, not willing to part ways with their prized asset easily, recently rejected a substantial £70m bid from Chelsea.

The Seagulls are reportedly holding out for a fee closer to £100m for the Ecuadorian international.

Despite the obstacles in negotiations, Caicedo has been vocal about his desire to join Chelsea this summer.

The midfielder’s eagerness to move to the West London club has added fuel to the transfer saga.

Chelsea had hoped to secure Caicedo’s signing before their pre-season preparations in the United States.

However, the talks between Chelsea and Brighton have yet to reach a desirable conclusion, prolonging the saga and leaving the Blues’ faithful eagerly awaiting a resolution.
