While Offor stole the spotlight, his compatriot Tenton Yenne, who also joined the team recently, featured for 45 minutes as they beat the visiting side 3-2 at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Sunday.

Following a narrow defeat to Akron Togliatti in the Russian Cup – Group Stage – Round 1, Offor and his teammates needed to bounce back, and they did just that at the Rostec Arena, continuing their impressive start to the season.

The hosts doubled their advantage shortly after the break, with Maksim Petrov finishing off a neat assist from the earlier culprit-turned-provider Ilya Petrov, taking the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Orenburg clawed one back through Evgeniy Bolotov in the 57th minute, but Baltika’s response was instant.

Super-sub Chinonso Offor, brought on in the 60th minute, buried a tidy finish to restore the two-goal cushion just four minutes after coming on.

Emircan Gurluk set up a nervy finish with a goal in the 69th minute, but the visitor’s hopes were dashed when Aleksei Tataev received two yellow cards in quick succession, leaving them a man down in the dying moments.

Baltika held firm to seal the deal and now sit third in the table. Next up: a tricky test against Krylya Sovetov.
