Abdullahi Bewene delivered a man-of-the-match performance as Banik Ostrava B cruised to a well-deserved 3-0 home win over Hanacka Slavia Kromeriz in their Czech Republic Liga 2 clash on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old forward stood out with a decisive goal and assist, ensuring his team crushed their visitors at the Městský stadion – Vítkovice Aréna, Footballrover reports.
Abdullahi Bewene Inspires Banik Ostrava B to Victory
It was a landmark moment for Bewene, who registered his first two goal contributions of the season after eight appearances.
This already surpasses his tally from last season, where he featured in 14 matches without the same impact.
While Bewene grabbed the spotlight with his crucial strike, his compatriot Emmanuel Chidubem Ogbu also started the game before making way for Roan Nogha in the 74th minute.
The match started tightly, with Banik Ostrava struggling to break down a compact Kromeriz defence.
However, once they found their rhythm in the second half, there was no stopping them.
On a warm evening, the young Baníci produced a sharp attacking surge to sweep Kromeriz aside.
The breakthrough came in the 64th minute when Tomáš Sirotek pounced, rewarding the home side’s relentless pressure, all thanks to Bewene who assisted the goal.
Just five minutes later, Bewene doubled the lead with real composure in front of goal, putting Banik firmly in control.
As Kromeriz pushed late in search of a response, Roan Nogha struck in the 89th minute to seal the emphatic victory and send the home fans into celebration.
Banik Ostrava Climb Liga 2 Table
This professional, patient, and ultimately decisive performance underlined that Banik Ostrava have both the energy and the finishing touch to trouble any opponent in the FNL.
With this result, Bewene and his teammates secured their second consecutive win, making it three victories in their last five outings, alongside one draw and one defeat.
The triumph lifts Banik Ostrava to second place in the Liga 2 standings with 17 points, just one behind early leaders FC Silon Taborsko.
Their next fixture is a crucial clash against Opava on September 15.
