Barau FC owner and Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has gifted his players 35 motorcycles and ₦17.5 million in cash ahead of their debut season in Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The celebration took place on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Kano, where Senator Barau hosted the team’s management, officials, coaches, and players.

The event marked Barau FC’s official reception following their promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the NPFL.

During the ceremony, Senator Barau also unveiled the club’s new Technical Adviser, Isah Ladan Bosso, signaling a strong statement of intent.

He urged the players to maintain dedication, discipline, and hard work, with the goal of not just competing but winning the NPFL trophy.

Nicknamed the Maliya Boys, Barau now carry the weight of expectation — and the resources to match.

In addition to praising the team’s talent, the Deputy Senate President’s generosity with 35 motorcycles and cash rewards was hailed by club executives and community leaders.

Club President Shawall Barau Jibrin and Chairman Ambassador Ibrahim Shitu Chanji lauded the Senator’s support.

Special Adviser on Youths and Sports, Comrade Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, said history will remember this intervention in youth development.

Player representative Usman Maidubji thanked the Senator, calling the gifts a motivational push ahead of the NPFL season.
