The 33-year-old set up the opening goal in their Round 32 clash, helping his side to a comfortable 2–0 win over Al-Wehda at Al Oruba Club Stadium.
Simy’s influence continues to grow. The Nigerian forward now has three goal involvements in his last three matches, underlining his importance to the team at a crucial stage of the season.
His overall numbers are even more impressive, with 26 goal contributions—23 goals and three assists—in just 25 appearances this season.
He played a key role in the opener, setting up Darwin González just before halftime to give the hosts the lead. Ayman Al Hujaili later wrapped up the win in stoppage time to secure all three points.

Despite the win, Al-Orobah remain fifth on the table with 59 points, with two matches left to play.
Ebere brace inspires Cruz Azul comeback win in Liga MX thriller
Elsewhere, Christian Ebere delivered a standout performance in Mexico’s Liga MX Clausura quarter-final, scoring twice to lead Cruz Azul to a dramatic 3–2 win over Atlas.
The Nigerian forward, who recently opened his account against Pachuca, took his tally to three goals this season with a match-winning brace away from home.
Ebere struck first to extend Cruz Azul’s lead, calmly finishing to give his side a two-goal cushion.
However, Atlas fought back through Arturo González and Aldo Rocha, who converted an 81st-minute penalty to level the game at 2–2.
With the match heading towards a draw, Ebere stepped up once again. The 28-year-old confidently converted an 87th-minute penalty to seal the victory at Estadio Jalisco.
Carlos Rodolfo Rotondi had earlier opened the scoring just before halftime, finishing off a well-worked move from José Paradela, before Ebere doubled the advantage early in the second half.
After scoring the winner, Ebere was substituted for Andrés Montaño as Cruz Azul held on for a crucial away victory.
Both sides will meet again on Sunday for the decisive return leg, with qualification still hanging in the balance.
