Rivers Angels are the 2026 champions of the Rivers State FA Cup after defeating Osklean Football Academy 4–0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Tosan Blankson’s side came into the clash as defending champions and relied on goals from Abasiofon Uwah, Grace Saliu, Taiwo Ajibade, and Rasheedat Salau to retain their crown, footballrover reports.

How Rivers Angels Took Early Control of the Final

The match started brightly, with the underdogs putting up an impressive fight and giving the NWFL giants a real challenge.

And just minutes into the game, Osklean almost snatched an early lead, but their attempt flew off target.

From that moment, however, the Jewels of Rivers took control and began to dominate proceedings.

Barely 20 minutes in, Abasiofon Uwah opened the scoring, finishing off a precise cross from Abosede Ebiesuwa to hand Rivers Angels the lead.

Three minutes later, the ten-time Federation Cup winners doubled their advantage. Grace Saliu reacted quickest to Jumai Adebayo’s free kick, rising highest to produce a brilliant header that beat the onrushing goalkeeper and nestled into the empty net.

Just four minutes before the half-hour mark, an inswinger from the right flank slipped past the Osklean goalkeeper and dropped kindly for Taiwo Ajibade, who tapped home effortlessly to make it 3–0.

In the 39th minute, Saliu turned provider. Released on a counterattack down the right, she beat her marker and delivered a low cross into the box, where Rasheedat Salau pounced to slot past the goalkeeper, extending the lead to 4–0.

Rivers Angels carried that commanding advantage into the halftime break.

Both teams came out for the second half still hungry for goals. While the Osklean ladies hoped to pull one back, the NWFL side were determined to make it five.

But in the end, it finished the same way, as the first-half goals were enough to hand the Jewels of Rivers the trophy once again.
