Nigerian teenage prospect Clinton Jephta has officially sealed a loan switch to Finnish side FC Inter Turku from Niger Tornadoes.

The agreement is set to run until July 2027, providing the youngster with a significant platform to showcase his skills at the club currently 4th in Finland’s top-tier league, Footballrover reports.

The deal includes a strategic option for Inter Turku to make the transfer permanent.

This allows the club to further monitor the 19-year-old’s development and evaluate his long-term potential within the squad.

Jephta is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most promising emerging talents.

He was a key member of the Flying Eagles squad during the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he gained invaluable international experience.

Before making the move to Finland, the left winger made 12 appearances in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.

He was highly productive, recording five goal involvements consisting of two goals and three assists.

His professional journey began with FC One Rocket before he was scouted by Niger Tornadoes during the 2023/24 campaign.

After a brief stint with Enyimba, he rejoined Tornadoes for the current season before heading abroad.

“Clinton spent a short time with us back in February and he convinced us with his expertise.

It’s great that we found a contract model that satisfies all parties, where we’re able to give him time and a bit longer to assess his skills and potential,” head of player observation Viki Savonen said.

Junior Christian Chibuzor Signs with KTP Kotka

In a parallel move, another Nigerian prospect, Junior Christian Chibuzor, has officially joined Finnish side Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat (KTP Kotka).

The defender arrives at the Finland third-tier league side from NPFL side Ikorodu City.

KTP Kotka confirmed the signing on their official social media channels, welcoming the 20-year-old to the Green and White.

The club expressed high hopes that the left-footed defender would bring physical dominance and tactical intelligence to their backline.

“We expect that ‘Rudiger’ will be able to play a big role in the team right away,” stated the club’s sporting director, Niko Ikävalko, highlighting the player’s immediate readiness for European football.

Widely known by his nickname “Rudiger” due to his defensive prowess, Chibuzor made over 28 appearances for the Oga Boys in the NPFL this season.

His former club, Ikorodu City, celebrated the move, wishing the centre-back success in his new Finnish adventure.
