Ekiti Queens FC have issued a strong response following their 2-0 win over Pacesetter Queens FC in a heated Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Matchday 15 encounter at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.

NWFL Matchday 15: Ekiti Queens FC condemn Pacesetter Queens conduct
According to Ekiti Queens, the game initially unfolded in an organised and competitive manner before incidents involving Pacesetter Queens disrupted the flow and spirit of the contest.
The club alleged that actions linked to the visiting team’s technical bench created unnecessary tension on the pitch, affecting the smooth running of the game.
Penalty incident and rising tension at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium
A key flashpoint came after the referee awarded a penalty to Ekiti ladies following a foul on Olamide Kaosarat.
The decision triggered a strong reaction from Pacesetter players and officials, who reportedly showed protest actions that nearly led to an abandonment of the match.
Ekiti Queens described the reaction as concerning, noting that such conduct could have damaged the integrity of the Nigeria Women Football League fixture.
After the final whistle, the home side further alleged that members of Pacesetter Queens engaged in aggressive behaviour towards players of the Ekiti side, a situation the club says has no place in professional football.
Ekiti Queens call for disciplinary review
Ekiti Queens stressed that the incidents go against the core values of fair play, discipline, and respect that the NWFL is built on.
The club has therefore called on league authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
Despite the controversy, Ekiti Queens FC reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism and sporting integrity, stating that football must remain a platform that promotes unity, respect, and healthy competition.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that it was Ekiti Queens who allegedly assaulted Pacesetter Queens players from Ibadan and held them for over an hour yesterday.
Fans are now awaiting possible sanctions from the NWFL governing body following the reported chaotic incident.
