Kano Pillars have received a ₦2.2 million boost from a passionate fan, Alhaji Alkasim A.M.A., following their recent displays in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Despite facing challenges on the road, the team’s resilience and fighting spirit have earned them recognition and support off the pitch, Footballrover reports.
Kano Pillars rewarded after spirited away draw
The Sai Masu Gida showed tremendous character in their Matchday 26 clash against Kwara United FC, coming from behind to secure a 1-1 draw.
The team conceded early but refused to give up, with Luis Dadong scoring the equaliser in the 79th minute.
This performance earned the admiration of the club’s supporters, particularly Alhaji Alkasim stepping forward to reward the players.
Prior to the game, the businessman had pledged ₦1.5 million for a win but was impressed by the team’s determination and awarded ₦1 million despite the draw.
This followed a previous reward of ₦1.2 million after Kano Pillars’ 1-0 victory over Remo Stars on Matchday 25.
These incentives aim to motivate the players as they look to climb out of the relegation zone and secure better results in the remaining fixtures.
Boosting morale in Pillars’ relegation fight
Pillars currently sit 17th in the league with 29 points from 26 games, having achieved nine wins, five draws, and 12 losses.
Their next challenge comes on Matchday 27, where they will host El Kanemi Warriors, aiming to extend their unbeaten run and strengthen their fight for league survival.
