The Nigerian Flamingos have officially booked their place at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after holding the Fennecs of Algeria to a goalless draw in the second leg of the final qualification series.
With a commanding 4-0 aggregate lead from the first leg, Nigeria entered the tie at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida with one foot already in the tournament, Footballrover reports.
Still, the Nigerian team remained disciplined, focused, and organised throughout the tense 90 minutes.

The opening half saw a determined effort from the hosts, who pushed forward in front of their home fans.
However, Nigeria’s backline stood firm and displayed defensive composure and tactical awareness, shutting down every attempt by the hosts to find a breakthrough.
Despite Algeria’s urgency and improved second-half performance, they were unable to break the deadlock.
The Flamingos remained compact and strategic, successfully managing the game and preserving their aggregate lead.

As the final whistle blew, it was clear that the Nigerian ladies had done enough.
Their 4-0 aggregate win not only knocked out their counterparts but also secured Nigeria’s eighth qualification for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
With another World Cup ticket in hand, the Nigerian young starlets will now shift their focus to Morocco 2025, aiming to make history on the global stage.
