Emmanuel Dennis got his name on the scoresheet yet again, inspiring Watford to a narrow away victory over Birmingham during their EFL Championship game on Friday evening.
The Super Eagles star is gradually getting back to his scoring form, netting the only and crucial goal that sealed the win for Watford at St. Andrew’s Stadium, Footballrover reports.
Dennis became the hero of the day, gifting his team a goal in their hard-fought 1-0 victory in matchday 38.
His compatriot Tom Dele-Bashiru also delivered a stellar performance in midfield, contributing significantly to Watford’s challenging away win.
In a thrilling encounter, Dennis broke the deadlock just moments before halftime, igniting celebrations among the visiting supporters.
Despite tense exchanges in the second half, neither side capitalised on opportunities, leaving the scoreline unchanged.
Dennis, who played for 63 minutes, exhibited his attacking flair with three shots on target before being substituted for Ivorian forward Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
With this win, Watford climbs to 13th place in the standings with 48 points, maintaining a comfortable lead over their 21st-placed hosts.
Looking ahead, Watford will now anticipate their upcoming clash against Leeds United at Vicarage Road on Friday, aiming to extend their winning streak and bolster their position in the league table.
