“People are talking about our stadium [the cathedral]. I know how many meetings we’ve had with respect to having control of that stadium. When we control that stadium, we can do a lot of things that we want to do, like the branding, the fireworks, and lots more. But beyond that, we’ve also started conversations with respect to building our own stadium,” affirmed Amobi Ezeaku.
In response to discussions about the club’s jersey pricing, Amobi Ezeaku addressed fans’ concerns, highlighting the strategic decisions made in setting the price.
Amobi acknowledged that there have been comments from certain individuals regarding the perceived expensiveness of the price attached to Rangers jerseys.
Amobi added that before setting the price at N10,000, a study was conducted, but they are also open to revising it.
He emphasised that their store won’t solely sell jerseys; soon, they’ll introduce flags, towels, and other merchandise.
Amobi expressed their aspirations to maintain a particular standard for the club and shared a commitment to collectively develop the club.
“Some people are already saying that the N10,000 price tag on Rangers jerseys is expensive, but Sporting Lagos, for instance, sells their jerseys for N25,000. We conducted a study before pegging it at N10,000, but we’ll review the price. We are not just selling jerseys; soon we’ll also have flags and towels. We have a lot we want to keep in our store. We want to build this club to a certain standard, and we’ll build this club together,” Amobi said.
With an eye toward preserving the uniqueness of the club’s merchandise, he emphasized the distinct features of the jersey that will discourage piracy.
“It’s going to be difficult to pirate our jersey. There are two places you’ll see the uniqueness of the jersey; in fact, three. The first is the badge; the second is the black badge just below the jersey; and behind, you can see the Afrinvest as well. I think it’s important to say [to Rangers fans]: When you get this jersey and wear it, take a selfie, tag Rangers [on social media], do something; the club belongs to all of us,” he said.
The long awaited day is upon us, My Rangers, Your Rangers.????????
