After Chelsea’s humiliating Champions League exit on Tuesday night, interim manager Frank Lampard has openly expressed his desire to put the team out of their misery, claiming he’s hungry to do his best for the club.

The 44-year-old made this declaration on Tuesday night, just after their Champions League match against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge.

Cucurella and Kante squandered excellent opportunities to reduce Madrid’s advantage, but Chelsea played admirably for significant stretches of the game.

They were unable to respond, and after 58 minutes Rodrygo broke their hearts by hammering Vinicius’ cut-back in from close range.

With 10 minutes left, Rodrygo added a second goal for Madrid thanks to a fluid move including Valverde, setting up a semifinal matchup with either Manchester City or Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich.

Frank Lampard, who has only been in charge at the Bridge for a few weeks, is yet to lead the club to a victory despite guiding them to two Champions League games and two Premier League matches.

The Chelsea legend, on the other hand, claims that he is extremely eager to offer his best for the team and will definitely not allow anyone to take their foot off the gas.

“I’ve been here at Chelsea two weeks now, I’m really hungry to do my best for this club, for my club. I certainly won’t be letting anyone take their foot off.”

With 17 points between between them and the top four Premier League teams, the Blues will now face just their second trophyless campaign in the past seven seasons.

Before another Champions League match will played at Stamford Bridge, it will undoubtedly take some time and will Frank Lampard still be present?
