Friday evening was a night to remember for young Nigerian forward Victory Beniangba, who scored a brace to inspire Jong Genk in a thrilling round 24 clash against Patro Eisden in the Belgian Challenge Pro League.
Beniangba’s two goals helped his team recover from a two-goal deficit to level the score at 2-2, but both sides eventually settled for an entertaining 4-4 draw at the Patrostadion, Footballrover reports.
Victory Beniangba Sparks Jong Genk Comeback
The Nigerian star was at the heart of the action throughout the match—watching his team fall behind twice, scoring to bring them back into the contest, and leading the charge in an eight-goal thriller.
The 22-year-old forward netted his sixth goal of the season, taking his total goal contributions to eight in 18 appearances, including two assists.
The former Bayelsa United striker finally rediscovered his scoring touch, having last scored on December 14, 2025, in a 2-2 draw with KSC Lokeren. Since then, he had endured a 52-day, five-match goal drought.
The hosts began the game on a strong note, netting two quick goals within seven minutes.
Léandro Rousseau put the home team ahead right after kickoff, and five minutes later, Raymond Asante doubled the lead.
Beniangba ensured his team didn’t head into halftime without a fight. Just before the break, he combined beautifully with Ayumu Yokoyama to pull one back for the visitors.
The Nigerian forward wasn’t finished. Eight minutes after the restart, he linked up with August De Wannemacker to restore parity at 2-2.

However, the visitors’ joy was short-lived, as Jordan Renson put the hosts back in front just nine minutes later.
The scoreline worsened when Japhet Muanza doubled the lead for the home side, making it 4-2.
Jong Genk continued to fight, and six minutes from time, Jonathan Coenen pulled one back to make it 4-3.
The most dramatic moment came in the 94th minute, when an own goal by Julien Devriendt secured a 4-4 draw, ensuring both sides shared the spoils.
Thanks to that result, Beniangba—who earned Man of the Match—along with his teammates, remains in 13th place with 20 points and will face FC Liège next Saturday.
