A dramatic Czech Liga 3 clash on Saturday saw Nigerian youngster Victor Samuel find the back of the net for FK Pardubice B, but his goal against SK Sokol Brozany wasn’t enough to secure victory as his team suffered a stunning meltdown, playing with just nine men.
It was a chaotic encounter where a seemingly comfortable lead for Pardubice B evaporated, leaving fans with less to celebrate after the final whistle, Footballrover reports.
Victor Samuel’s early strike and the sudden turnaround
FK Pardubice B looked set for an easy win when Victor Samuel opened the scoring in the 21st minute, the second goal in seven matches for the 18-year-old forward.
Borek Prochazka then doubled their lead just before halftime in the 44th minute, giving the visitors a strong advantage at the Hlavni Stadion.
The second half, however, brought a completely different story. Brozany quickly responded, with David Schetti pulling one back in the 50th minute, sparking hopes of a comeback.
The game then took a wild turn as FK Pardubice B was reduced to nine men. Marek Halda received a red card in the 57th minute, followed by Jakub Tecl getting sent off in the 64th.
The fightback: SK Sokol Brozany delivers dramatic equaliser
With a two-man advantage, SK Sokol Brozany pressed hard, sensing an opportunity.
Their determination paid off dramatically in the 88th minute when Martin Lukas scored the equaliser, with the home crowd jubilating.
It was a truly thrilling match that showed incredible resilience from Brozany and a complete collapse from Pardubice B.
Despite Victor Samuel’s goal, his team’s defensive woes continued.
Unfortunately for the Nigerian and his teammates, this result means FK Pardubice B is now without a win in their last seven games, with four losses and three draws.
These poor results have seen them drop to 16th place with 33 points in the 17-team table.
